Wired And Wireless Printer Setup

There are two ways to connect your printer. It can be wired directly to the universal serial bus port (USB) to your computer or wirelessly if you are using a wireless router. Whatever type of connection it is the first thing that you need to check is if the printer is communicating properly with your computer. If you cannot print using your printer that means that the computer and printer is not talking to each other. Please check the manual to see if you have the proper connection. It is important that you check the cable connections first. Make sure that they are connected snugly. You can also try using a different universal serial bus port (USB). Just to be same use the USB port at the back of your tower as it supplies more power than the ones at the front. Your printer will come with a compact disk (CD) that should be its driver. Check the light indicator on your printer too. Each light green or red, solid or blinking signifies the status of your printer. Mostly if the power is solid red or blinking red that mean that there is something wrong with the printer itself.

Wireless printer is special because they have their own wireless card and own IP address. They communicate directly to the network just like when it is directly wired. Same principle applies to this wireless printer, the driver and setup should be correct in order to work. The IP address should be in range with the network in order to be seen and use by other computer. Wired or wireless printer both needs a working driver in order to work properly. One of the best ways to test your printer is to print from all sorts of program like Microsoft word documents, PDF files etc.
